Chris Poulissen (graduated in 1985) gained experience at Architecture Studio in Paris, France, and worked for AWG (ArchitectenWerkgroep – Bob Van Reeth), Antwerp, Belgium. Between 1988 and 1994, he was responsible at AWG for the design, technical aspects, quality and financial management of several housing, apartment and office building projects and urban development plans in Belgium and the Netherlands.In 1995, as managing director of his own company Architectenbureau C. Poulissen, which became Poulissen & Partners in 2001, he designed and process-managed the construction of houses, offices and schools in cooperation with developers in Belgium, France and Spain.In 2005, the occasional collaboration with the engineer Laurent Ney was formalised and the company Ney-Poulissen Architects & Engineers was established on the occasion of the design competition for the Oosterweel connection, Antwerp, Belgium. The team continues to work together on large-scale international DBFM infrastructure competitions. In 2009, Ney-Poulissen Architects & Engineering won the international competition for ‘De Oversteek’, a city bridge in Nijmegen, the Netherlands, which is currently under construction. The team began operating in India in 2011, mainly in the province of Maharashtra. Ney-Poulissen Architects & Engineers became NP-BRIDGING in 2011.
